I first heard about the book Flexible Visual Systems by Dr. Martin Lorenz from a skillful designer friend, Lukas Hoffmann.  Later on, I came to understand its importance when I started working on branding projects commercially.

To better understand and explore its potential, I needed to optimize and speed up the process. I wanted to experiment with as many components as possible and explore the possibilities—so I began implementing the system’s rules into a TouchDesigner patch. You upload your compenent, you get the results.

The component is divided into four equal parts and combined in every possible way (4!).


Later, different variations are transformed, scaled, and mirrored to create various animations and stills.



Divided components are merged in different variations to create new components.


There are currently around 120 variations in the patch, which can also be combined and animated.
